Electrical Project Value – £800,000

Completed in April 2024 over a duration of 20 weeks. The project has created 33 additional bed spaces in a specialist respiratory unit, with the intention of relieving pressure on A&E.  Ruby Ward connects to an adjacent Cardiology unit creating a Cardiorespiratory Village.

RP Bray carried out the installations of the new IPS/UPS system throughout the bed bays, ensuring the supply to the new medical trunking bedheads are appropriately backed up in case of power failure to the building not effecting the care patients require. RP Bray successfully delivered the following new systems. Containment; baskets, trunking, conduit and ladder.  Lighting: a new design throughout with emergency self test/ monitoring function. Nursecall; a new system was installed across the ward and interlinked with the existing system in the adjacent cardiology unit. Data; network and Wi-Fi points through the ward. Security: Door access via swipe cards and video phone at the entrance. LV Power; a new 800a panel in the switch room which feeds the UPS systems, Air Handling unit, BMS and Distribution boards on the ward.
